'The X Factor' Final 16: Watch the Boys' Performances (VIDEO)

'The X Factor' Final 16: Watch the Boys' Performances (VIDEO) After the high-pressure auditions, the grueling Boot Camp, and the stressful performances at the judges' homes, the final 16 (17, really) for "The X Factor" have been decided.

The Boys category, mentored by L.A. Reid, is perhaps the most eclectic group, with four finalists that show very different styles. There's Marcus Canty, an energetic singer along the lines of Usher; Phillip Lomax, a jazzy singer who idolizes Frank Sinatra; Chris Rene, a pop performer with a bit of an urban edge; and Brian Bradley a.k.a. Astro, the 14-year-old rapper.

Among the four, Chris Rene seems to be the favorite: he performed an original song for the auditions and wowed the judges, and his backstory has made him sympathetic and given him a lot of screen time, as he's fresh out of rehab and working to turn his life around.

However, Brian Bradley shouldn't be overlooked. His talent is clear and his attitude is entertaining. However, there are questions as to whether a rapper can get far in this singing competition.

Marcus and Phillip, meanwhile, have impressed their mentor L.A. Reid with their vocal abilities, but it's unclear whether either of them will be able to fit into the current pop music landscape and be a marketable star.
